Tom Morello Announces “Power To The People” Festival Featuring Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen, Serj Tankian, and More

Tom Morello’s Power To The People might be the most politically charged rock festival lineup announced in years.

Tom Morello has announced Power To The People, a massive new festival bringing together Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen, Serj Tankian, Dave Matthews, and more for a one-day event focused on music, activism, and community action this October in Maryland.

Tom Morello is bringing together one of the wildest rock lineups of the year for a new festival called Power To The People, set for October 3 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland.

The Rage Against the Machine guitarist announced the event as “a non-partisan celebration of peace, justice, solidarity, music, and community action,” blending music with activism in a way that feels very on-brand for Morello.

The lineup is stacked. Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Dropkick Murphys, Cypress Hill, Killer Mike, Brittany Howard, grandson, The Linda Lindas, and Tom Morello himself are all scheduled to perform. Bruce Springsteen is also billed as a special guest, alongside System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian, Joan Baez, Jack Black, and more.

Morello said the festival is about “freedom, justice, equality and rock and roll,” adding that the event is meant to highlight “the power everyday human beings have when they come together through music, art, community, and action.”

Beyond the music, the festival will include a “Freedom Village” featuring advocacy groups, nonprofits, and community organizations. A portion of VIP ticket sales will also benefit VoteRiders and HeadCount, groups focused on voter registration and election access.

The announcement continues a politically active stretch for Morello, who has spent the last year organizing benefit events and performances tied to activism and community causes. Earlier this year, he appeared alongside Bruce Springsteen during several high-profile performances centered around protest music and solidarity events.

Tickets for Power To The People go on sale Friday, May 30, with presales beginning May 29.
