There’s something hilarious about watching people attempt dangerous ski tricks in places where skis absolutely do not belong while a fast, loud Foo Fighters song blasts in the background. That’s basically the entire idea behind the “Of All People” video, and somehow it works perfectly.
Instead of going for a dramatic storyline or polished cinematic visuals, the Foo Fighters lean fully into chaos. The video follows Swiss stunt-ski crew BPC, who are known for skiing without snow. They fly down paved streets, grind rails, launch off stair sets, and crash their way through spots that look more suited for skateboards than skis.
On paper, it sounds completely ridiculous. Watching it is another story. Every stunt feels like it could either end in an incredible landing or a trip to the hospital. That unpredictability matches the song’s energy perfectly. “Of All People” moves fast, hits hard, and barely lets up for a second.
The song itself feels raw in the best way. It has that rough, aggressive edge that longtime Foo Fighters fans will probably love, with flashes of the band’s early sound mixed with a little punk attitude. The video gets that vibe immediately. It doesn’t try to be deep or overly artistic. It’s just loud music, reckless stunts, and people doing objectively stupid things because it looks fun.
That’s really what makes the whole thing work. The skiers don’t come across like action movie stars. They look like a group of friends who had a terrible idea and decided to commit to it anyway. That messy, fearless energy fits the Foo Fighters better than some overproduced concept video ever could.
Even though the video is shot well, it still has a scrappy DIY feel to it. At times it almost feels like an old skate video or a lost Jackass segment with a punk soundtrack behind it. There’s a looseness to everything that keeps it entertaining from start to finish.
A lot of rock videos today try way too hard to feel important. “Of All People” succeeds because it doesn’t. It’s quick, chaotic, funny, and a little dangerous. That’s more than enough.
