Riot Fest is officially returning to Chicago this fall, and the 2026 lineup proves once again why the festival remains one of the most unpredictable and beloved events in alternative music.
Set for September 18-20 at Douglass Park, Riot Fest 2026 will feature headlining performances from Tool, Twenty One Pilots, Pierce the Veil, and Alanis Morissette. The annual festival continues its tradition of blending punk, metal, alternative rock, hardcore, indie, and hip-hop into one massive weekend.
This year’s lineup stretches far beyond the headliners. Fans can also expect performances from Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, Morrissey, Iggy Pop, Pixies, Elvis Costello & The Imposters, Patti Smith & Her Band, NAS, Bad Religion, Social Distortion, Taking Back Sunday, The All-American Rejects, GWAR, Public Image Ltd., and Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter.
The undercard may be where Riot Fest shines the brightest. Artists like Chat Pile, Soul Glo, Fleshwater, The Callous Daoboys, Pup, Melt-Banana, and Frankie and the Witch Fingers continue the festival’s reputation for spotlighting cult favorites and rising acts alongside legendary performers.

Unlike many modern festivals that lean heavily into one genre or sound, Riot Fest continues to embrace chaos in the best possible way. The lineup jumps from punk icons to alternative radio staples to underground heavy acts without feeling forced, giving the event a personality that few major festivals still have.
The festival has become known for more than just music over the years. Carnival rides, wrestling, sideshow attractions, and Riot Fest’s signature DIY atmosphere have helped turn the Chicago event into a destination festival for fans across the country.
Three-day passes for Riot Fest 2026 are on sale now, with additional ticket options expected to become available closer to the event.
