The man accused of planning a terrorist attack targeting Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concerts in Vienna has officially been convicted and sentenced to 15 years in prison by an Austrian court.
According to multiple reports, 21-year-old Beran A. was found guilty for his role in the foiled 2024 plot that led to the cancellation of all three of Swift’s scheduled shows in Vienna just hours before fans were set to arrive at the stadium. Authorities said the planned attack involved homemade explosives and knives, with investigators linking the suspect to Islamic State activity.

The concerts, originally scheduled for August 2024 at Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium, were expected to draw nearly 200,000 fans across three nights. The cancellations stunned Swifties worldwide and marked one of the most serious security threats connected to the massive global tour.
Investigators reportedly discovered bomb-making materials during a raid on the suspect’s home shortly before the concerts were set to begin. Prosecutors said the defendant admitted to parts of the plan during trial proceedings earlier this year.
Two additional individuals were also tied to the broader investigation. One previously received a suspended sentence under juvenile law, while another was reportedly connected to related extremist activity overseas.
Swift later addressed the canceled Vienna dates publicly, saying the situation left her feeling overwhelmed by fear and guilt, while also thanking authorities for preventing what could have become a mass-casualty event.
Even nearly two years later, the Vienna incident remains one of the darkest moments surrounding the Eras Tour’s historic run, which otherwise became one of the biggest concert tours ever staged.
